CALM! Public Meeting

PROTESTORS against a planning application to more than double the number of heavy lorry movements operated by waste transfer companies operating from the Airfield industrial site near Cheddington have invited Buckinghamshire County Council and the Environment Agency to attend a public meeting on Friday December 14.
The meeting, at 7.30 pm in Cheddington Village Hall, is being organised by CALM! (Campaign Against Lorry Menace), which is supported by villagers from Mentmore, Cheddington, Slapton, Horton, Ivinghoe, Pitstone, Marsworth, Long Marston, Puttenham, Wilstone and Gubblecote. MPs John Bercow (Buckingham) and David Gauke (South West Herts) will both attend.

County Councillor Avril Davies recently presented a petition to the council containing over one thousand signatures, and CALM! has held a protest meeting attended by approaching 200 people (see other News Item for more details on the protest meeting).
