Cheddington has won the Buckinghamshire Village of the Year Smaller Communities category many times - including in 2024 both the DeFraine Cup and the Sword of Excellence (Best Overall).

The awards are based on various categories covering community life, business, young people, older people, environment and information communication technology (ICT). Chairman of the Competition, Bill Chapple, commented: "The standard of entries was again very high and showed how much diverse community effort is put in to keep our villages and towns looking so nice".

In the past, Cheddington has been highlighted for its youth involvement in village life and the wide range of activities and facilities it has on offer for everyone in the village.
