Cheddington Youth Drama Group
Established 1995, for 7 to 16 year-olds.
Meetings every Wednesday during term time, 6.30-8.00 at the Village Hall.
Leaders: Colin Bryer and Gill Waterhouse.
Our friendly, energetic group involves itself in many drama-related activities, including games and improvisations. Through these we encourage self confidence, teamwork, discipline, quick-thinking, self expression, good communication, creativity and lots of other good things!
We put on a full scale production every summer at the Village Hall. Last year we served hot pizza meals to a large audience, who were treated to two plays with an Italian theme, 'A Soldiers Story' and 'Mr Macaroni's Exploding Pizza Pie Factory'. This year we performed 'Ghost Writer', a fast-paced all-action comedy, and 'Hot Cakes', a drama about teenage enterprise with comic moments and a serious message.
The group is fortunate to have three permanent assistants (two female, one male) and a rota of talented adults, many of whom are involved with CADS and the Pantomime Group.
Young people are welcome to visit and see whether they would like to become full members. We are also looking for adults to help with everything from set building to make-up. Contact Colin on 01296 668033 to make an appointment.
